You have a destiny!
Ecclesiastes 6:10 (New Living Translation)
The Future—Determined and Unknown
10 Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.
How does that scripture sit with you?
Now I know... many are reading and instantly bring up the pre-destination vs free will discussion... And granted, there are valid points on either side of that equation.
But think with me for a moment:
Can we agree that God created the world and everything in it?
Acts 17:24 (New Living Translation)
24 “He is the God who made the world and everything in it.
Can we agree that God is a God of good and perfect planning. (no junk)
Jeremiah 29:11 (New Living Translation)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Can we agree that God loves you and me way more than we give him credit for?
John 3:16 (New Living Translation)
16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Can we agree that God has intended for us to live a RICH AND SATISFYING life, through Jesus?
John 10:10 (New Living Translation)
10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
So... if God made us all, and He doesn't make junk with no purpose. And we also know that He is crazy in love with us and intends for us to live a rich and satisfying life... wouldn't it make sense that He has designed a perfect plan and will for our lives?
He has wired all of us with a perfect ZONE for us to serve within.
This ZONE is the convergence of our spiritual gifts, our passions, our Holy Discontent, our skills and abilities, and a God-given opportunity.
With the good and perfect recipe God gives us, we are to bring ultimate glory to Him by living within His designs.
Find your ZONE. Your DESTINY! And have a blast living in the design our Heavenly Father has for you!
Romans 9:14-24 (New Living Translation)
14 Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not! 15 For God said to Moses,
“I will show mercy to anyone I choose,
and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.”[a]
and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.”[a]
16 So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.
17 For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”[b] 18 So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen.
19 Well then, you might say, “Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven’t they simply done what he makes them do?”
20 No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into? 22 In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction. 23 He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory. 24 And we are among those whom he selected, both from the Jews and from the Gentiles.
Rob,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog...thanks again for sharing your insights into what Christ is doing in your life on a daily basis. It's very challenging to all of us.
Thought I would send you the web address to a ministry that a great buddy of mine is in the process of setting up in Pennsylvania. It's still a work in process (needs some editing), but I thought you might be encouraged by his testimony and knowing that more and more of us are out there sharing and seeking the life changing growth that Christ offers us.
